Krys's Scarf

December 2004
As a continuation of Nate's scarf, I made one for his wife, Krys. This one I chose to make more feminine, and took her skin tone into consideration. I ended up choosing Debbie Bliss Soho, shade 03, which has elements of sage, pale green, lavender, and pale pink. The fiber content is 100% wool, and the weight is aran and is uneven. I chose to knit a tight cable down the center, using size 9 needles- my second cable project (The first is still incomplete)! It took 3 balls of yarn, and three times as much time as Nate's scarf, but it was significantly shorter. If I were to knit it again, I might like to go up a needle size or two in order to make it a little more relaxed, but this scarf turned out pretty good anyway. A few people saw me knitting this one and really liked it, especially Grandma Jean. Hanging from the trunk
A closeup. The edging is done in garter stitch, then there are two stitches of stockinette, then one stitch of reverse stockinette, and a six-stitch cable that winds clockwise. The flat edges were done by slipping the first stitch for every row.--->
