Jeff's Mom's Scarf

December 2004
When I saw Rowan Biggy Print at my local yarn shop, I knew that I had to knit something with it. The need became more pressing when I happened upon the color known as Thunder. It is 100% merino wool, with shades of reddish magenta, purple, and gray. It is a wonderfully thick yarn, best suited for size 35 needles, with varying thickness. Being that I was planning to make scarves for Nate and Krys, I decided I had to make another scarf for someone who would suit the colors well: Jeff's mom. I tried to give it an interesting pattern several times, only to discover that the bulky yarn would hide any textures that I was to give it. Therefore, the scarf is done in a simple garter stitch.

It is a decent sized scarf. It knitted up as fast as lightning, too. When I was done with it, I had to hide it so I wouldn't keep touching it - it had a neat bumpy texture. To the right you can see me modeling Jeff's mom's scarf in all my glory. --->
